The Deep End of the Ocean

Michelle Pfeiffer is ferocious in the role of a desperate mother whose 3-year-old son disappears during her high school reunion. Nine years later, by chance, he turns up in the town in which the family has just relocated. Based on Jacquelyn Mitchard’s best-selling novel (an Oprah book club selection), the movie effectively presents the troubling dynamics that exist between family members who’ve suffered such an unsettling loss.

Soap2Day Review:

The Deep End of the Ocean – was the biggest surprise of the year 1999 The ‘best’ term is as you know from a relative term: You or I may not even be on the list of someone else whom we consider to be ‘the best’. So the general rule is to declare the majority of nations. Like the best, though, for me, it can be considered the most beautiful movie ever made. The movie is openly dreamlike, and like most dreams it moves uncertainly down a path with many turnings.

There are some stages in this movie that I will remember them until death. I did not know anything about this movie before, I did not even see a trailer, but I enjoyed it very much in the first place. Special effects, action and characters give this high rating.

The soundtrack, the atmosphere and the characters. The fact it still holds up so well is a testament to what a work of art it is. I chose to load this wonderful movie in Soap2Day so everyone now can see it online for free.
